Tim has worked in law enforcement for more than thirty years and has spent his career investigating crime and managing computer forensic examinations. He has testified as an expert in computer forensics in several counties in California, including Santa Clara, Contra Costa, San Francisco, San Bernardino and Los Angeles. He has testified as an expert to his findings in depositions and in court for both criminal and civil cases. He is qualified to perform exams of Windows PC’s, Mac computers, cell phones, network storage devices and digital storage devices, such as external hard drives and USB devices. He has performed exams and managed the work of other examiners at a federal regional computer forensics laboratory. He has collected evidence and analyzed devices in a variety of local and federal criminal violations, as well as civil cases involving homicide, fraud, theft, employee misconduct, family law, cyber stalking and computer instrusion. He has worked for several computer task forces and he has spoken about investigations involving email in Washington DC at the National Press Club. He has a BS in Criminal Justice and an MPA in Public Adminisitration. He also holds the following certifications: GCFA, CFCE, EnCe, Network+, A+, and Ace.
Daren has worked in law enforcement for over fifteen years. Some examples of crimes he has worked: fraud cases, employee misconduct, homicides, theft, cyber stalking, network intrusions, crimes against children, elder abuse, Business Email Compromise (BEC), romance scams, cryptocurrency investigations, ransomware, cyber crime, dark web cases, and phishing scams. He has performed exams on Windows PC's (including Memory Forensics), Mac computers, Linux machines, cell phones, external drives, and USB devices. He has also responded to numerous ransomware and network intrusion incidents. He participates on numerous federal task forces and teaches part time. He has testified as an expert in computer forensics and cell phone forensics. Daren has presented at numerous conferences on cyber security. Daren holds a Master's Degree in Information Systems, a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, and the following certifications: GCIH, GCFA, CFCE, EnCe, CCLO, CCPA, and CASA.
